I am Vikas Joshi, a proud and long-term resident of Wyndham. As a passionate advocate for our community, I am dedicated to ensuring that local voices are heard and that every resident has the opportunity to thrive. Recently, I was recognised at the Wyndham Business Awards 2024 for Excellence in Local Community, honouring my leadership and commitment to impactful initiatives. I am a Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Friend, Software Professional, People-driven, Loving & a Caring person. For me council election or any election is about public-service. These positions come with a lot of responsibilities & expectations. I refrain from using the word “politics” as I think “politics” is antithesis for progress. A progressive team or society is where people are working, taking up responsibilities, cooperating & collaborating; and where there is no room for “politics”. I have worked in this direction throughout my career & have been successful in creating amazing teams & delivering some unimaginable projects in record timelines.
My key priorities are:
- Safety and Wellbeing for Women, Children, and the Elderly: Ensuring public spaces are safe and accessible by improving lighting, building family-friendly parks, and expanding community services focused on women’s health, childcare, and elder care.
- Growth & Support for Local Businesses: Strengthening local businesses by advocating for initiatives that foster growth, create jobs, and promote a thriving local economy.
- Promoting Environmental Sustainability: Introducing policies that protect our natural environment and promote sustainable practices for future generations.
- Enhancing Community Services: Improving access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and recreational facilities, ensuring they are available and accessible to all residents.
- Improving Local Infrastructure: Ensuring safe and well-maintained roads, parks, libraries, bus stops, train stations, and public spaces for all residents. Additionally, creating Resident Assistance Desks for feedback and grievance resolution.
